We drove from Marseille to Aix-en-Provence in the morning where Lindsay and I explored while my parents went to a meeting. Aix is a very old city that has changed hands many times over the centuries. It was once the capital of Provence. We were happy for some dry weather. Aix-en-Provence, France We (especially Lindsay) thoroughly enjoyed the marchée.

And especially the spices.

The church of Saint-Jean-de-Malte was the first in Provence and built in the 13th century.

I had to restrain myself from buying a pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) and/or baguette at every bakery/patisserie we passed by on every corner. Sometimes I failed.

My parents picked us up at this fountain, and we headed out.
